7 January 2014 – no casualties

It’s time to back into the swing with closer to daily mortality surveys at the Noble Research Center. I will reach 5 years of monitoring by August 2014, at which point I will have amassed sufficient data to recognize a deviation from the pattern stemming from measures to mitigate the impact.

Today, one outer rectrix of the Dec. 1st junco remains.  Even though the bird was scavenged a few weeks ago, the record of its collision is still there.
